Your Ideal Pocket Monster Legends: Z-A Super Form Based on the Zodiac Sign
The comeback of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked widespread excitement within the fandom. From the one-by-one unveiling of fresh additions before the title's launch, to trainers developing firm opinions on the full roster of new Megas, there's plenty for fans to look forward to.
Given many of the Super Forms showcasing unique appearances that emphasize their traits, one idea came to mind: How can link this with zodiac signs? The following is inspired by a mix of intuition, common zodiac traits, and individual observations.
Aries – Mega Camerupt
Honestly, Houndour's evolution was nearly chosen for Aries, as they are the Mega Pokémon and zodiac symbol that evoke the greatest apprehension. But, a Mega Houndoom appears as always angry, which doesn't match the Ram's energy, known for being fun, cheerful, and spontaneous. This makes Aries far more similar to Super Camerupt, which only spews lava when provoked. Stay on the good side of both and enjoy a powerful ally; if you cross them, be ready to face the consequences.
The Bull – Mega Heracross
Much like a loyal Bull, the reliable Heracross, whether in its regular and Super Form, has aided many trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though dependable, each the creature and a Taurus are still battle-oriented, and – whether it's their companion or a strong opinion – will defend their side unwaveringly. The thing about Mega Heracross that reminds me most of my Bull-sign companions, however, is its unabashed passion for treats. Many past official descriptions mention their craving for sweet sap and how it employs its horn to collect it all, which is pure Bull-sign vibe.
Gemini – Super Medicham
Observe this absolute royalty. It's impossible to convince me this creature is not the soul of any gathering, offering an endless stream of gossip to those who wants to listen. Just like an enrapturing, gregarious Twins, it's very easy to envision Mega Medicham mesmerizing an entire open area with their tales. Medicham’s official description also states its capacity to predict an enemy’s next moves, which sounds very similar to a people-smart Twins.
The Crab – Mega Manectric
Cancer is commonly considered as the most emotional member of the zodiac, a passionate sign famous for frequently becoming absorbed in their feelings. Per the official info, Super Evolution charges the creature with a “tremendous quantity of energy, but it's excessive for this Pokémon to fully manage,” which seems a lot like a classic Cancer crash-out. This Pokémon is also known for its ability to make a storm cloud over its own self – and if there’s one thing a Cancer is going to do, it’s rain on their own parade.
Leo – Super Starmie
Well, did you assume I was planning to select Pyroar for the king of the stars? Aside from the reality that it would be far too on the nose, The Lion is clearly Super Starmie, the star whose legs just became an internet sensation for being extremely fabulous (or terrifying, based on your preference). Fans were captivated from the violet sea star, and that’s precisely the same vibe a Lion brings to the scene. Starmie is also said to be transmitting signals from its center out into the cosmos, and it’s just like a Lion to be putting on a performance, albeit for aliens.
The Maiden – Mega Victreebel
The ever-prepared and constantly-worried Virgo is perfectly encapsulated in Mega Victreebel, the Mega with perpetual acid reflux. The zodiac symbol famous for being charmingly judgmental is clearly mirrored across this Pokémon’s entire lineage, from a perpetually shocked face like a Virgo when you inform them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its inverted face that’s just like the symbol a Maiden sends to the group chat when all says they want to “go with the flow” instead of creating a strategy.
Libra – Super Audino
Look at this sweet, empathetic creature, who uses the feelers on its auditory organs to detect how others are feeling by their pulse. Consistently empathetic – sometimes to a fault – and trying to keep the peace, there are numerous Scales who would probably appreciate Super Audino's skills. Though, to be frank, it would probably just cause them to stress more about others.
The Scorpion – Mega Banette
This Ghost-type is a Pokémon with a unexpectedly tragic origin: Discarded as a doll, it gained sentient through pure hatred and vowed revenge on its former owner. Per the official info, Super Evolution, “enhances its spitefulness.” That seems precisely like many conversations I’ve had with my intense Scorpion acquaintances. A Scorpio loves cosmic justice and retribution, making them the ideal pair with Mega Banette.
Sagittarius – Super Hawlucha
Both Mega Hawlucha and Archers are always putting on a performance. As a Archer myself, the number of times I’ve called myself some version of a “silly little jester” is countless. The showiest and most obnoxious Mega Evolution, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “flexes to show off its strength.” I would do the very same thing if I had some kind of Super Form, making Mega Hawlucha the most fitting Archer counterpart I can imagine.
The Goat – Super Absol
Did you know that a Super Absol has the power to foresee disasters ahead of time? That exudes the exact same vibe as a Goat, who tends to consistently think they’re correct. The thing is, much like a visionary Super Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the very initial Mega Evolution that trainers meet in Legends: Z-A – just like a Goat to join the beginning of the Mega trend.
Aquarius – Super Chandelure
Aloof element Aquarius is possibly the non-flame sign that is most like a flame symbol – its sister sign is Leo, and there are numerous memes about the Archer and Water Bearer being unpredictable accomplices. Mega Chandelure’s double Spirit/Flame typing fits perfectly with this, and the Super Form's overall daunting presence is also very Aquarius. If you hadn't yet convinced, the Super Form's description says it “draws in hatred and converts it into strength.” If that doesn’t exactly {encaps
