Around 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast found themselves without power on the start of the week after powerful weather events passed over the state, generating powerful gusts reaching over 100 km/h.

Residents reported large ice chunks reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that various areas across the state had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Rescue organizations responded to nearly 600 calls for help across the region, mostly for building damage but also for fallen timber and flooding.

Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were forecast to persist along much of eastern Queensland this coming days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
Tuesday was predicted as the most rainy day, with continued storm activity predicted across different parts of both regions.
