That Grisly Animated Movie Ending That Haunts Viewers

Out of every adult-oriented cartoon movies I’ve ever watched, no other has lingered in my mind quite like the terror-laced conclusion of the viscerally violent as well as deeply subversive film from 2022 The Unicorn Wars.

In 2015’s, this Spain-based writer-director developed a grim, melancholy , often savage universe that included a few small , forlorn hints of optimism.

While Unicorn Wars feels like it originated from a drive to advance animation even more, the director clarified that it was actually an effort to express a global, cross-cultural theme regarding “the shared root of each battle.”

That message is communicated through a group of brightly hued teddy bears , obviously modeled after a popular series of cuddly characters.

Growing up in a community built around aggression and the war machine, numerous these animals are obsessed with killing unicorns, because of a sacred text that tells them they were once kings of the forest, before these creatures expelled them.

Some haven’t fully fallen for the indoctrination, , prefer to sample drugs and engage sexually outdoors.

Unlike their gentle equivalents, these vivid animals have visible genitals , clear urges.

For one particularly cruel, skeptical animal, the character Bluey, the battle against unicorns becomes a path to power — and particularly to supremacy above his more tender, nicer brother Tubby.

The character acts as a tormentor and an obvious antisocial figure , and when fear takes over his group and kills his teammates sequentially, he grabs more and more influence on his own behalf, via progressively violent, harmful methods.

Meanwhile, the unicorns are experiencing their own horror, as an expanding, harmful creature in their woods.

“At the beginning, it appears as a comedy,” the filmmaker said. “But then it evolves into a more intense and melancholic film. And in the finale, it transforms into a horror film.”

The Unicorn Wars begins similar to among the quirky features from a renowned animator, which find a naughty glee in permitting animated figures curse, fire weapons, or engage sexually.

Then it becomes more akin to a bleaker film by that same creator, including ever more visual gore and a noticeable link to the real tragedy of conflict.

In the finale, it is a complete extreme drama bloodbath.

The fear that makes the film an ideal spooky-season movie begins well before than indicated.

The Unicorn Wars is suited for the most dedicated gorehounds, for fans of intense movies who desire to watch something they haven’t ever watched previously, and who can handle a story which delivers unflinching brutality.

View it with the lights off with no disturbances, and the conclusion will dig into your mind and take up residence there.
