Renowned Performer Pat Finn, Known For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic TV shows including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California recently having undergone cancer treatment since 2022, per media reports.
"He considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his family said in a message.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".
A Notable TV Career
His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a social organizer famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on several well-known programs, like:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- "House"
His most famous role for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.
His cinematic roles include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored countless students during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," he shared online.
Pat Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
