'Our Mission Involves Only Eliminating' - The Way The Sudanese Ruthless Militia Conducted a Mass Killing
Alert: This Account Presents Explicit Details of Shootings.
Militiamen laugh as they ride on the bed of a utility vehicle, speeding by a line of several lifeless forms and heading in the direction of the descending Sudanese sun.
"See this extensive effort. See this ethnic cleansing," a combatant shouts.
The fighter smiles as he directs the camera on his own face and his fellow militiamen, their Rapid Support Forces identification clearly shown: "These people are all going to die like this."
The men are celebrating a mass killing that humanitarian officials fear resulted in the deaths of in excess of thousands of civilians in the Sudan's city of the Darfur city in recent weeks.
A City Cut Off from the Globe
Following their control of the community under blockade for nearly an extended period, from late summer the paramilitary force moved to strengthen its position and restrict the surviving residents.
Satellite images reveal that troops commenced to erect a massive earth barrier - a built-up sand barrier - encircling the edges of el-Fasher, blocking access routes and preventing relief supplies.
As the siege escalated, multiple people were killed in an paramilitary attack on a mosque on mid-September, while the United Nations reported 53 more were killed in drone and heavy weapon bombardments on a makeshift community in fall.
Disturbing Video Shows Unarmed Civilians Shot
At dawn on 26 October the militia defeated the remaining military positions and seized the primary headquarters in the city, the headquarters of the Army Division, as the government forces retreated.
Among the most graphic videos to emerge and studied revealed the consequences of a massacre at a educational facility on the western side of the city, where numerous corpses were seen strewn over the area.
An elderly person dressed in a white tunic remained isolated surrounded by the corpses. The individual rotated to glance as a militiaman armed with a firearm moved along the steps towards the individual. Raising his firearm, the shooter released a one round at the individual, who fell to the surface lifeless.
"Why is this one yet breathing," one combatant shouted. "Execute him."
Orbital photography taken on October 26th indicated to verify that executions were also performed on the streets of el-Fasher, as reported by a report released by the academic research center.
An observer who spoke reported he had observed "numerous of our family members getting executed - they were gathered in a single location and all killed."
Militia Commanders Seek to Implement Public Relations
In the days that ensued from the atrocity, RSF leader acknowledged that his troops had committed "wrongdoings" and announced the occurrences would be examined.
Part of the detained was subsequent to a investigation recording his executions. Deliberately orchestrated and edited recording published on the RSF's authorized Telegram platform show the individual being escorted into a detention area at a jail on the outskirts of the city.
At the same time, the paramilitary force and associated digital profiles began trying to reshape the narrative.
Posts showing its combatants distributing supplies to residents were disseminated by some users, while the force's public relations unit published multiple recordings purporting to display the compassionate management of military detainees.
Despite the digital campaign being used by the paramilitary, their actions in al-Fashir have generated international anger.
