Iran Reports Strike on American Facility in Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Counterattacks.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area in the area of the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any impact is not yet known and the US has yet to issue a statement.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - said they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on Iran initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on areas linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported debris landed in a neighborhood in the capital, causing some property damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
