Football Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game victorious streak came to an end by Sunderland before the global hiatus, however can the English top division leaders recover against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.

For the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's latest record, Knees Up, is out on Friday.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not intending a serious return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their Saturday soccer team," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our team for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be quite close, however. Burnley are well organised and their sole home losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

The Cherries have lost their previous couple games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

West Ham's only away victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest manager.

So, what on earth do I go with here - can the Hammers continuing their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I will choose the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign started, but they have impressed a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their last four matches.

My son advised me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably score again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are always decent at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

Fulham have got lots of talent in their squad but it still feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

Their performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not seen any other team rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the close of last month.

However I am not going to choose that. Rather, I truly need to continue going against the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only team they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be extremely eager for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad run... but they have nonetheless been decent at home this season. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
